Clear Dental Aligners is the Secret to Straight Sacramento Smiles

Are you looking to sport a dashing smile with straight teeth but aren’t thrilled about wearing braces? Invisalign® dental invisible aligners offer an alternative. This innovative technology delivers straight teeth without having to announce your effort to the world.

Sacramento River Dental Group is a Certified Diamond Plus Provider of Invisalign® dental solutions. After a brief consultation, we can tell you if you are suitable for Invisalign® treatment.

What is the Clear Dental Aligners System?

Invisalign® applies a series of specially designed clear plastic aligners to straighten the teeth; these will be switched out as the treatment progresses. These clear dental aligners will gradually reposition your teeth comfortably. Invisalign® dentures are made with advanced 3D computer technology, so they fit perfectly on your teeth and adjust their position and alignment over a while.

Benefits of Invisalign®

As the name implies, the Invisalign® system is almost undetectable. This means you can realign your teeth even while you smile; no one will ever tell. Unlike traditional braces, the Invisalign® solution can be removed. This makes eating, flossing, and teeth brushing an easier task.

There are also no wires in the design, so you will not have to make an appointment with your dentist for regular adjustments.

The Treatment Process

The treatment solution is also very convenient. You will wear a single set of clear plastic aligners for two weeks, only removing them for eating, drinking, or teeth cleaning. Every two weeks, a new dental appliance is used. This will continue until the desired results have been achieved.

For the most part, patients will use between 18 and 30 different clear dental aligners over a 9- to 15-month period. But because each treatment plan and appliance is unique, the number of appliances can be very different from patient to patient.

What’s involved with wearing them?

The first step in the Invisalign® treatment process will be to visit an orthodontist, who will perform an examination and capture a 3D image of the mouth and jaw. This image will be used to design a functional plan for returning your teeth to their proper place.

Your orthodontist will then use this plan to design a series of best teeth aligners that will slowly restore your teeth to their proper position. This is done with gentle pressure that gradually shifts the position of each tooth in a specific direction.

Depending on the plan laid out by your orthodontist, these aligners will be switched out regularly — typically every week or two. These clear dental aligners must be worn between 20 and 22 hours each day for optimal results in the proper time frame.

What’s the clear dental aligners cost?

According to the prices listed on the Invisalign® website, the cost for Invisalign® treatment is roughly the same as regular tooth alignment with braces. According to the Consumer Guide to Dentistry, this is about $3,000 to $5,000.

The cost will fluctuate depending on the specific needs of the individual. The duration and complexity of the treatment plan, as well as the alignment issues you are looking to address.

If you have a Flexible Spending Account, this can be applied to covering many of the costs of Invisalign® Treatment. If you do not have insurance coverage, have no fear. Many dentists and orthodontists are prepared to offer some very convenient payment plans for Invisalign® treatment. Make sure you ask about this option at your consultation.

The mouth can be damaged irreversibly by crooked teeth that go unchecked.

Misaligned teeth disrupt the fine dynamics and motion of the mouth; this can cause enamel to wear down prematurely, leading to gum disease and tooth rot. For many people, Invisalign® treatment is more of a health decision than a cosmetic one. Orthodontic care is an example of preventative dentistry. By addressing the alignment of your teeth, you can avoid problems in the future.

As a patient, you have many health benefits to gain from a straight smile. Make an appointment with Sacramento River Dental Group today to determine if you are a candidate for Invisalign® treatment.
